🎤 HSK & HSKK Speaking Levels
If you're planning to take the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) and the HSKK (Speaking Test), it's important to know how the levels match and how the exams are structured. Here’s a simple guide!
Each HSK level is linked to a specific HSKK (oral test) level:
-
HSK 3 ➝ HSKK Beginner
-
HSK 4 ➝ HSKK Intermediate
-
HSK 5 & 6 ➝ HSKK Advanced
So, if you’re taking HSK 5 or 6, you’ll need to register for the HSKK Advanced level.
❗ Can I Register for HSK 5 and 6 on the Same Day?
Technically, yes—but it's not recommended.
-
If you register for both HSK 5 and HSK 6 on the same day, you’ll also need to register for HSKK Advanced twice.
-
However, you’ll only take the HSKK exam once, and the same score will be used.
-
Unless absolutely necessary, it’s better to avoid registering for both levels on the same day to prevent confusion.
📅 When Will My Results Be Available?
-
🖊️ HSK Paper-based: Results are published 1 month after the exam.
-
💻 HSK Computer-based: Results come out 15 days after the test.
-
🗣️ HSKK (Speaking Test): Whether paper or computer, results are released after 1 month.
🤔 What If I Only Take the Written HSK, But Skip the Speaking Test?
No problem at all! ✅
-
Your HSK and HSKK scores are separate.
-
If you don’t take the speaking test, your HSK score report will just show the speaking section as blank.
-
It will not affect your written exam score in any way.
📜 How Long Is the HSK Score Valid?
-
HSK scores never expire and are valid for life as proof of your Chinese level.
-
However, if you're applying to a Chinese university as a foreign student, your HSK score must be within 2 years of your application date.
